Grace Upon Grace {Choosing Joy}

Each Wednesday I will be sharing about Choosing Joy in the Midst, inspired by my 40th birthday. There IS Joy if we have the perspective and intentionality to see it. Thanks for reading!

I mentioned in my podcast appearance on @Simply Wholehearted last week - both preaching to myself and hopefully encouraging you - to extend Grace upon Grace upon Grace.

A definition of grace is courteous goodwill.

I don’t know about you, but this recovering perfectionist has often found it difficult to receive grace. But with transitions coming at us on the regular as kids grow and change, and the very nature of interacting with all kinds of people, some of whom may view the world differently, isn’t in all of our best interest to offer grace first. We all have battles we are fighting, whether physical, mental, financial, relationally. So why not extend grace, to ourselves as we go about our unpredictable days, and to those we come into contact with - at school, in the office, at the airport, out to lunch, under our very roof.

My youngest baby just began kindergarten this week. I've intentionally scheduled a light week and after years of sending kids off I’ve realized I need the white space to process, to pray, to reflect and to rest and that there is no apology necessary for that. I’m excited for what is to come, both personally and professionally and I thank you for being part of that.
