Make Room to See the Joy in 2021

What would help you Make Room to SEE the JOY?

I mention this often, because I believe the first step to awareness of the gifts already present in our lives — namely the people — is to make room, to create space, to allow only the essential, to edit away the clutter.

What brings you joy?

Your kids laughter? Their creativity?
Flowers from the yard (or dandelion weeds from tiny hands?)
Freshly folded laundry?
A walk with a neighbor?
A cup of tea with your mom or glass of wine with your bestie?
Adventure hikes with your spouse and kids?
Curled up in bed with a good book?
The local art museum?
Giving back to those in need?

What do you SPECIFICALLY want to carve out space for, make room to see? What is getting in the way?

Is, perhaps, the clutter around you in your spaces, schedule and heart standing in the way of perspective to SEE the JOY?

I personally haven’t had a New Year Resolution in years but have steered more towards a word to be intentional with how I move through the year.

Breathe. Rest. Listen. Hold Space. Play.

I also have tackled some 30 day challenges over the years. Maybe you have too, but have been overwhelmed by the pace. I personally have settled on a slower, more easy approach to creating new habits. I believe the journey is long and slow, at least if we intend to maintain. My goal is always to offer suggestions and give a framework and tips that you can pick and choose based on where YOU are in your journey. Most of us won’t need to tackle all of the areas I share. Maybe just choose one!

If you’d like to join with me on a slow journey to Make Room to See the Joy, then stay tuned for monthly lists in my shop (January - March are already posted) and follow along on instagram.
