We use spaces in our homes so much differently than just a generation ago. I love creatively approaching a space with families to make their rooms work more purposefully for them today.
This formal living room stored books, but was ready for a pulled together retreat for mom that was free of screens, but also provided space for growing kiddos to work on puzzles and homework that didn’t take over the dining table. We created a plan to really showcase their extensive library, including many classics from childhood, with built-ins, custom made by Cary’s Mill Woodworking. They provide the perfect space for books, craft and game storage, and most importantly displaying their Ravenchase escape room trophies won during favorite family outings. Those make it!
Additionally we added a navy blue rug and breezy panel draperies, repurposed a Crate and Barrel chair for mom, and a refinished table + chairs from Southern Finds by Chance at the Lazy Daisy. Whenever possible I love pointing clients to local or secondhand options.
